Kefir Fruit Smoothies

This recipe will take your tastebuds for a spin! By using Kefir, it gives the smoothie a nice tart taste (almost like a sour candy) which really makes this snack enjoyable and is such a great alternative to the regular smoothie.

Whether an athlete or someone who is looking for a new snack, these smoothies are a great item to add to your week. They are super easy to make and keep well in the fridge for a few days. Just shake it up and drink! Also, bonus bonus - Kefir is loading with amazing nutrients like protein and calcium and are a source of probiotics (happy gut = happy you).

Here’s the mix I tried out this week:

Chocolate Mixed Berry

  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 1 cup Kefir
  • 1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder

Vanilla Mango

  • 1 cup frozen mangos
  • 1 cup Kefir
  • 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder

Vanilla Raspberry Banana

  • 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 cup Kefir
  • 1/2 scoop of vanilla protein powder

Adjust ingredients as per taste! Add a bit more Kefir or regular milk/alternative milk if wanting to decrease the thickness of the smoothie.

Interesting Nutrition Fact!
Did you know?
Kefir is considered a probiotic (healthy bacteria for your gut and mind) and that some individuals with lactose intolerance would have no issues drinking Kefir because these friendly bacteria break down the sugar (lactose) in Kefir.
