Signs of RED-S in Athletes
Does this sound like you?
You may be experiencing RED-S if you're noticing:
Low energy during the day, in training, or while recovering
Trouble focusing, or difficulty falling and staying asleep
Getting sick more often, or recurrent stress fractures
A doctor or coach advising you to reduce training or stop racing for your health
You started competing because you love your sport and want to reach your goals — don't let underfueling, uncertainty, or a busy schedule stand in your way.
Athletes who work with a credentialed sports dietitian improve performance and recovery, reduce injury risk, restore menstrual function, and ease stress around food — supporting long-term health and athletic success.
How I help

Through a team-based, holistic, and compassionate approach, I help you restore your health and receive practical, personalized nutrition support for daily life, training, and race day — so you can feel better mentally and physically and refocus on the sport you love.
In collaboration with your medical team, I help address underlying concerns while supporting you through anything affecting your energy, recovery, or relationship with food. Together we build an individualized plan for daily fueling, training, recovery, race day, and off-season — tailored to your schedule, lifestyle, and goals.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About RED-S & Disordered Eating in Athletes
What is RED-S?
Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) happens when your body doesn't get enough fuel to support both training and essential functions. Over time it can affect energy, bone health, hormones, mood, and performance.
How do I know if I have RED-S?
Common signs include persistent fatigue, recurrent injuries or stress fractures, missing or irregular periods, frequent illness, and stalled performance. A proper assessment — often alongside your physician — helps confirm it.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No referral is needed to work with me. I do coordinate closely with your medical team and can help you recognize when lab work or a physician visit is warranted.
Will I have to follow a strict meal plan?
No. My approach is non-diet and flexible — we focus on adequate, sustainable fueling rather than rigid rules. A customized meal plan is available as an optional add-on.
Will you make me stop training or racing?
My goal is to keep you in the sport you love, safely. Sometimes we adjust the load with your coach and doctor for a period, but the aim is a strong, sustainable return — not the end of your season.
How long does recovery take?
Every athlete's timeline is different and depends on how long things have been building. Most athletes start to feel real improvements in energy and performance within a few months of consistent, team-based support.
